I've struggled in the agentic era deciding how / what my personal website should be.
In many ways, I am very enthusiastic about AI. I've worked with AI my entire career, including during undergrad. I knew what a transformer was, when that's all it was and I worked with many of the traditional building blocks of machine learning from simple statistical regressions to convolutional neural networks for advanced manufacturing. Now, I use it constantly in my day to day work, and am extremely enthusiastic about the agency (pun not intended) and possibilities it creates. (See my GitHub)
I even use it extensively in developing this site. Which seems fine to me, as this site has always been a reflection of my current software engineering abilities, and to pretend I don't do all software development through agents now a days, would be entirely false.
This is my personal site though, and while the taste and design remain mine, something more tangible I believe has to exist for this site to truly remain valuable outside of herding people to my LinkedIn, Resume, or Email.
I've decided that tangible thing must be my writing, which is such a powerful expression of human intelligence and emotion. While I can't promise things I write weren't informed or swayed by information learned from artificial intelligence, I can promise that everything written on this site is, and will remain, entirely written solely by myself.
This site has always been largely inspired by others, as have all my projects. I'm nothing without the people and projects I've met and participated in. But I hope by keeping things truly authored, I can give the world as much a glimpse into how I personally think, as possible.
More to come here soon, hopefully sooner than another 6 years.
